Goal of this position
The goal of the Retail Assistant is to monitor and organize inventory also perform daily cleaning, organizing, stocking and selling of retail items, and packaged beer. Some requirements necessary to do this job are: the ability to multitask and prioritize, be very detailed and organized.
Maintain each retail space par level with the merchandise (ie. shirts, glassware, stickers, magnets, bags, bottle openers, tin signs, hats) Communicate to low stocks to Retail Manager as needed Check out Beer coolers at each location and make sure all product is faced, looks presentable and is visible
Make sure shelf labels are correct and changed out when necessary
Stock glass wrappers, retail bags and stamp bags
Assist in receiving and inventory management in retail operations; each location and back storage
Assist in taking weekly inventories at each location
Retail Assistants are focused on keeping the merchandise moving in and out of the back storage space to the sales floor, and supporting the Location Managers to keep merchandise stocked and needs met. Retail assistants job is to keep the stores peak performance by encouraging upsells to customers. Encourage them to check out our online store if they are ever out of a size or style
Assist Retail Manager in organizing totes to be ready to take for festivals and manage inventory totals going out and coming back into stock
Inspect items are being folded and properly looked after.
Move things around in order to sweep, mop and dust hard to reach areas
Assist in receiving and counting retail merchandise to ensure proper invoicing and quality assurance. Compare to the purchase order. Notify Retail manager of any discrepancies.
Take merchandise to the locations and put it on the shelves. Managers and employees should help you if they have time
Performs side work as posted or instructed
Execute transactions, exchanges, and refunds through our POS system
Assess customer’s individual merchandise needs and interests in order to best recommend products
Be creative in finding ways to increase the average sale
This job operates in a highly self motivated environment. You will often work alone and need to work well with the managers at each location on ideas and needs that can be met to insure retail is reaching its goals and staying ahead of the trends. Have a sense of priorities, urgency and follow through. Will need to know how to work the squarespace website and POS systems to add and remove items and add prices. Will know how to receive orders and fulfill them in a timely manner.
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to walk/stand and sustain physical activity for periods of time (2+ hours); use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. Requires at times high and low levels of movement with the ability to reach with arms, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and squat.
