Concesssions Attendant and Cashier for Bearizona Grill and Canyonlands Restaurant

Goal of this position:

  • Obtain an understanding of the cashier responsibilities, how to use the square program and the systems inside the grill.

  • Knowledge and preparation of the  food items, knowing how to work the kitchen equipment and properly serve each item on the menu.

Job Responsibilities:

  • As a cashier you are the first impression the guest will receive. Your top priority is to make everyone feel welcome. No matter the type of day someone is having, we want them to leave feeling better than when they came.

  • Be Genuine In Your Interaction. No matter how busy you are, never make the guest feel rushed or like they are an inconvenience. Keep in mind we are here for the guest, no request is an inconvenience. When difficult situations occur it is important to handle them with professionalism and poise. Think on your feet and think of creative solutions when there is a need. Small things can have a large impact on someone’s day.  Helpful reminders:

  • We have a concept that relies on teamwork to get things done. You must communicate with your coworkers in order to be successful in your role. You will need to collaborate with a number of people in order to ensure the guest has a seamless experience.

  • Inside Duties include: Taking orders for food and beverage, presenting prices, processing cash payments, knowing how to work the kitchen equipment and properly serve each item on the menu, maintaining the stand clean and sanitized. Setting up the grill to make the day smooth and stocking what is needed on the condiment table (straws,  sugar, napkins, and plates, etc.) and behind the register. Keeping the cashier station clean and organized, (trash free especially around cups and silverware). Constantly wiping down the counters near drink stations and melt down the ice of the soda machine. Following the opening, midday and closing procedures. Taking out  all trash and boxes before closing.

  • Outside Bussing Duties Include: Properly clean tables with a white towel, including table top, center, and seats. Ensuring that the floor around tables are swept and are  available for the next group of people. Please be sure to walk around clearing any unused platers, trash or cups, try to keep all tables as clean as possible. If someone spills a drink try to relocate them to a clean table. If not possible, clean as best as you can around the person.

  • Cashier Responsibilities:  When assigned to your register, you are accountable for all cash and credit card payments. You are responsible for all comps and promos.  You are responsible to be organized with all of your receipts and your checkouts. Make sure to fill out the cashier check out form during check in and check out.

Tips:  Being in a fast casual service we are in a tip pool where we add up all cash and credit card tips and get tipped out according to how many hours worked for that day.

  • To be on time ready for your shift in appropriate attire and wearing non slip shoes

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Hourly position that requires a flexible schedule, often-working workdays, weekends, and holidays. Shifts include normally as early as 9 a.m. and as late as 9 p.m.
